Evaulation part 2

The technical part of this final radio drama was adding the sound tracks to the right place so then this makes sense or recording my own sound tracks this made it more hard because when adding these sound tracks I had to make sure the sound quality was perfect for my radio drama if not this would not sound nice and will be very static and having these sound normal or have been recorded with when recording the radio drama.

When I was making my radio drama when getting feedback from my audience they have said that's done audio files where to loud and that you can't hear the person that's is taking and instead hear more of the music/sound effect.

The effect on the audience and how lowering the sound quality has on my final products is when lowering the sound quality this make the listener more into the radio drama but when lowering the sound volume this could break that immersive feeling so in a way this has gave a negative impact on my product, another impact would be the of the sound quality of it's to high it would be very clear but can interrupt the listeners concentration on the radio drama so this is why I have lowered the sound so then the listeners concentration is on the radio drama and does not go away this is important because at the same time if it's to low then there is no concentration if it's to high then there is no concentration of the volume levels are balanced and placed well right to where it should be when one has said then this can be very good for the person listening to the radio drama and finally another impact on the sound quality of it is static or hasn't been exported right wen doing so when I was downloading and exporting my files from the SONY sound recorder I'd make sure that the export has been done the right way and all the data has been fully transferred to my desktop I woud listen to the sound to see if I need to record it again or I need to out it in final cit pro to take away the status from the sound which i had to do because when recording the SONY voice recorder when moved around loads it woold make the sound product have alot of statistics on ths sound so this I had to make this in static so then it's easier to listen to and smoothe for the listeners of the radio drama.

I conclude by saying having a higher sound quality or sound volume is essential because it captivating, clear, enjoyable and easy to listen.

This is for unit 14 and 16 has both elements mixed in this post!

Production journey

Production Journey:

Embarking on my production journey, I recognized the need to learn various aspects to ensure a smooth process in creating my radio drama. A crucial step was testing different microphones to determine which provided the best sound quality for my project. The microphones I evaluated included a Sony recorder, a phone recorder, a camera microphone, a boom mic, and a standard omnidirectional microphone for computer use. Ultimately, I opted for the omnidirectional microphone since it captures sound from both sides, making it ideal for recording dialogues similar to an interview.

Setting Up the Equipment:

To set up, I connected the omnidirectional microphone to my computer and SONY recorder, selecting the microphone voice option to confirm the connection and ensure it was recording correctly. This setup guaranteed clear sound without unwanted white noise.

Creating Sound Effects:

For sound effects, I found the Sony recorder to be the best choice due to its clarity and portability. Using my own recordings avoided potential copyright issues. With permission from my teachers, I took the Sony recorder home to capture sound effects, aligning with my storyboard and ensuring minimal distractions.

Gathering Feedback:

After completing my first draft, I sought audience feedback through a focus group. Their suggestions to add more sound effects led me to record additional sounds over the following week. Using the Sony recorder again, I captured sounds in the media studio room.

Editing and Finalising:

One positive aspect of my edits was the engaging intro and outro, featuring a music from the suspense and radio sound music.

Choosing the Right File Format:

When selecting the file format, I opted for AIFF due to its uncompressed nature, preserving the audio quality and details of my radio drama. Editing the audio levels was crucial to avoid peaking and distortion, ensuring clear and pleasant sound.

Publishing:

I uploaded my radio drama to YouTube in the best possible quality to attract and engage my audience.

Evaluation

This is for unit 14 and 16!

SWOT analysis of first draft

Strengths:
  • The strength of radio is that it relates to the brief
  • The storyline makes sense and it flows nicely
  • It very educational
  • Talks about the impacts of social media in the whole of the radio drama

Weaknesses:
  • The volume is not balked or needs to be changed
  • Some lines need to be recorded
  • The AI tool needs to be changed to another voice
  • The wave sound needs to be changed or balanced

Opportunities:
  • I had a lot of sources to have fake actors inside my radio drama such as the AI tool
  • When doing the sound effects product it gave me more knowledge to make a good radio when making one

Threats:
  • In my radio drama there where no threats I had because this whole radio drama has no offence os more of a educational interview not a normal interview you would have

Unit 14 and 16!

Final edit

Unit 14 and 16!

Focus group / Analysis of Feedback

Feedback:

  • Make the volume more balanced or lower
  • Re record some lines
  • Have the second AI tool to be another voice
  • Change the wave sound effects
The feedback above is the feedback thats my focus group gave me but some of these I think I want be able to do like re recording some lines because I want have that much time also changing the character of the AI tool line cease the same reason don't have enough time but changing the wave sound and the balance the sound effects or music can be done.
