This is my scenario for Unit 14 & 16 below:

The similarities and difference about these ideas towards the brief are the following first of all these ideas will all be under or 5 minutes so this following what the brief is wanting me to do, all these ideas all are educational and a bit hilarious which meets the scenario that I'm following but the only trouble I have which is my idea for these radio are about the impact of internet of things can effect a person and a business which on the brief it says I have to talk about the issues and benefits of social media so that might be a problem but this can be changed a bit to soot the scenario and also these ideas are all family friendly. 

Analysis of 2 drama radio shows:

BBC radio 5 lifestyle What happens during a disability, the codes and conventions of this programme firstly the codes the codes that this programme has are the following speech, music, sound and silence because this programme consist of a woman's life and what's things she had to go through and what her life was like being a disabled person which she talks about the struggles what things where good and bad in her life the conventions of this programme are that narrative and direct speech and aural signing post this is because she would describe her life using a lot of visual words so then the audience can imagine it.

The content and running order of This thing in the Darkness is about a life of a random family member and how the life is like one season was about this family how the son has gone to jail and he's describing how life is in jail and how's he's struggling to survive in jail all alone without his family even Thoe his family has raised him wrong and not been nice to him so this shows how differ lives are as different people but with this same season it shows different sides of a story from different views of each family member which shows how the family member is showing what their stories is to other family members situations but on this day there is also other dramatic shows that play also the news and more.

Sound elements production report

Foley effects is a are a sound that are added to film or television production in post-production to enhance the audio quality or create a more immersive experience. An example of a foley sound is a rain dropping from a fountain that makes sound like rain or rain drops. 

The theme music for the title sequence is music played at the beginning of a film or TV show, typically accompanying the opening credits this sets the tone and often encapsulates the mood or central idea of the production.

The film score is the original music composed specifically to accompany a film this enhances the emotional impact, helps convey the storyline, and contributes to the overall atmosphere of the movie.

The characters signature tune is a musical motif or theme associated with a particular character in a film or TV series this is often used to emphasize the character's presence or to provoke specific emotions or traits associated with that character.

The incident music is for background music used in a film or TV show to enhance scenes, create atmosphere or underscore emotions this usually serves to support the action without drawing too much attention to itself.

The voice over is for recordings of spoken dialogue that are not accompanied by an on-screen speaker these are typically used in films, TV shows, commercials, documentaries and other media to provide narration, commentary or additional information to the audience.

The script speech is the written dialogue in a screenplay or script that is intended to be spoken by actors in a performance this encompasses the lines that characters say to one another as well as any narration, voice overs or other spoken elements included in the script.

In this video I have done 3 Folley sounds where I show what the sound has originally came from and what it sounded like this is an example of certain Folley sounds, the second sounds are ambient sounds where you get a location sound that has similarity or sounds like that sound that it is meant to sound like so this what was I meant to show to show example of the research side of this task here is some evidence of me recording these sounds. 

In the sound element when I was recording I found that all the devices that I used I found that the best device to use is the SONY voice recorder which was the best option to use and used up less space and was easy to access and export so i think i will use this device when I'm making my final product.

Consideration to create the best quality audio:

Sound formats and file types:

wav: is a lossless uncompressed format and high quality making it very suitable for video and music for production or publishing purposes so all records would set to wav atomically but this can be changed. 

Advantages:

• Its a uncompressed format 
• A simple format 
• Allows everyone to listen
  
• Is a lossless audio quality 
• Its high quality audio 
• It manipulated wav audio format 

Disadvantages:

• Large file size 
• Special storage required 
• Limited compatibly with other devices 
• Impractical for streaming and portable use 

AIFF: is a Apple operated format and lossless. 

Advantages:

• This is uncompressed 
• Highly compatible with other devices 
• Changeable bit depth and sample rates 
• Can be embedded with meta data 
• Suitable for archiving audio files 
• Ideal for music production 

Disadvantages:

• Its a large file size 
• Not ideal for low bandwidth uses cases 

FLAC: is a compressed lossless format takes up a lot less space and its a open source sound. 

Advantages:

• Lossless coding format 
• Its free and open source 
• High sound quality 
• Suitable for archiving 
• For music production 

Disadvantages:

• Relatively large file size 
• Unideal for streaming 
• Limited combability with other devices 

MP3: is a lossy format stores music on a smartphone as a mp3 because its takes up less space, this can support by a range of websites and devices. 

Advantages:

• Easy streaming and sharing
• Faster uploads and downloads 
• Excellent sound effect 

Disadvantages:

• It's a lossless file 
• It discards original data 
• There's slight loss of sound 
• Does not have a large dynamic range 

AAC: is a lossy format used by Apple iTunes used to keep and the same format and quality. 

Advantages:

• Greater sound quality 
• Supported by several devices and services 
• Takes less storage space 
• It's not a lossless file 
• Easy to stream 

Disadvantages:

• Drops quality 
• Data can be missed or thrown away 
• It's more metallic 

Ogg Vorbis: is a open source sound and lossless format. 

Advantages:

• Better audio quality 
• Easy streaming and sharing 
• Faster uploads and downloads 
• Excellent sound effect 

Disadvantages:

• It's a lossless file 
• It discards original data 
• There's slight loss of sound 
• Does not have a large dynamic range 
• Higher battery consumption 
• Doesn't offer universal compatibility 

WMA: this format is owned by Microsoft its not well supported by other software's and devices. 

Advantages:

• Improves the playback effect at low bite rate
•  Retains high quality with a low amount of storage space 
• Doesn't perform well at high frequency 
• Easy to compress English audio files 

Disadvantages:

• It's not universally supported 
• Normally have a large duke size 
• The encoding process of the sound which leads to loss of audio or low sound quality 
• It's may sound or be chopped up 

When recording my sounds for the sound elements when I was extracting the sound elements it turned into a mp3 file which I think is the best option and will have better access and will be more successful for me to use and I will be using this same file format when I'm making my final products.

Storing audio files:

USB or hard drive: this is printable stick or box that's allows you to hold and store data on the go this can come in a range of sizes and looks of the USB and hard drive the sizes that's this product does come in are the following 2-128 GB and some times even 1-2 terabytes. 

Advantages: 

• Its simple to store export data or information 
• Easy to use 
• Portable 
• Very durable 
• Quiet fast 

Disadvantages: 

• Small capacity 
• The price per GB is quite high 
• Can easily be lost or stolen 
• Limited lifespan 

Solid state hard drive: A solid-state hard drive (SSD) is a type of data storage device that uses integrated circuit assemblies to store data persistently, typically using flash memory.

Advantages:

• Speed is very good
• Very durable 
• Efficient with energy 
• Not noisy 
• The size and weight very small 

Disadvantages:

• The cost per GB is high 
• Limited write cycles 
• It has a small capacity 
• Complex data recovery 

Cloud back up services: Cloud backup services involve storing data on remote servers accessed via the internet, managed by third-party providers. These services automatically back up files, databases, and applications, ensuring data is secure and retrievable.

Advantages:

• Easy to access 
• Easy to adjust storage 
• Cost effective 
• Security is high 
• Automatic back ups 
• Gives a reliable solution for days recovery 

Disadvantages:

• Depends on the internet

When recording the sound elements for this project I found that when recording on a SONY voice recorder was very easy and when came to the pint to export the data out it was very easy and quick which the SONY recorder had its own internal hard drive which is very big and can be very reliable so this will be a must when recording my radio drama. 

Compressions:

Decompression is the process of restoring compressed data to its original form. 

Decompression reverses this process, allowing the data to be used in its original form.

Compression is used to reduce the size of data, making it easier and faster to store and transmit. 

Compression is an essential part of data management, enabling efficient use of storage and bandwidth while balancing the trade-offs between quality and resource use.

Data compression techniques can be broadly classified into two main categories lossless compression and lossy compression these category has several methods, for different types of data and use cases shown below: 

Lossless compression: 

• Run length encoding (RLE)
• Method: Replaces sequences of the same data value occurring in many consecutive data elements with a single data value and a count
• Use case: Simple and effective for data with lots of repeated values, such as graphic images with large areas of single colors
